Design is everywhere. My inspiration comes from every thing around which helps
implement the idea to innovate a creative concept to design.
Years of experience in developing and implementing creative strategies.
A graphic designer based in Toronto. I graduated from George Brown College with an Honors award in Graphic Design, specializing in Corporate and Advertising Design. It has been 12 years since then and I have expanded my skill set into editorial, advertising, print and recently web design. During this tenure, I gained extensive experience as a corporate in-house designer and design studio team lead, while working on independent projects on the side. As the studio team lead I was responsible for the leadership and management of the design department. I have developed and implemented integrated and creative strategies on various direct marketing campaigns from concept to completion. Some of the clients I have created campaigns include the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) annual conference, DAS and Small Cells Congress, American Conference Institute's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act conference, and the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA) annual conference. I have exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities which assisted me in building creative marketing designs for such campaigns.
So why did I choose Graphic Design?
Ever since childhood I've had a creative itch. It started with my love for the arts. Sketching and painting was my favourite pass time. I never thought of having a career in a creative field until late in high school when my art skills were recognized. I received many art awards and scholarships. During one of the chats with the art teacher about my future career, I was introduced to the world of graphic design. And as they say, 'the rest is history'.
Away from design, I have been the Vice President on the Board of Directors for the residential complex I reside in for the past 5 years, working alongside other members of the board in making decisions on operating and reserve fund budgets and on the upkeep of the properties. For the past 6 years, I have been volunteering as an ambassador for the World Partnership Walk, a fundraising initiative to end global poverty developed by the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada.
